What is PAT testing?
The inspection and testing of electrical appliances to confirm they are safe to use. Each item gets a visual check, electrical tests and a recorded result.
Is PAT testing a legal requirement?
The law requires electrical equipment at work to be kept in a safe condition. PAT testing is the most widely used way of showing that appliances have been checked, tested and recorded.
How often should appliances be tested?
It depends on the type of appliance, how often it is used and where. We recommend retest dates for your premises and remind you when they are due.
Will testing interrupt our working day?
Each appliance is switched off briefly while it is tested. We work through your premises in stages, and visits can be booked for evenings or weekends.
What happens if an appliance fails?
It gets a fail label and is recorded on your report. The engineer explains the fault and whether the item should be repaired, removed from use or replaced.
How is the price worked out?
By the number of appliances, in fixed bands from £49 + VAT for up to 5 items. Use the calculator at the top of this page, then send the form and we will confirm it.
